Origins

Would it surprise you to know that Rubystone Crucible wasn't made on purpose? Well it's true. The idea of the crucible, no not the tool, wasn't formed until late 2024. In fact, we had already designed nearly 80 weapons and around 350 very rough and unfinished story ideas.

Then the first of our myths was made. The Chronicles of Er'Omingrad, our eight part comic series featuring seven individual stories that come together to face the ultimate threat. The namesake of the Chronicles, Er'Omingrad the Devourer.

Our workshop was originally planned as a writing company, devoted to the creation of the Chronicles. However, we were inspired by that old phrase:

The pen is mightier than the sword.

As our founder is an avid writer, artist, and blacksmith, combining the pen and the sword was only natural. Thus, the idea of Rubystone Crucible was created to bring myth into reality through stories and steel.

Today, we have more than 100 designs to mix and match pieces with in the Rubystone Armory Mixer. The Chronicles are underway, and we're excited to present our work.

Our Namesake

Rubystone Crucible. Where in the world did that name come from? Well I'm glad you asked! Let's do a simple breakdown.

Rubystone was a nod to the Eldritch of the Chronicles. The Eldritch all have a reddish area somewhere on them. This rubine color is canonically what humans can percieve. Eldritch see energy flowing from it to know how powerful other Eldritch are.

The other half of our name, Crucible, was to symbolize both the metalworking aspect of the company as well as the common metaphor. Crucible is used to describe difficult trials. We see it as a strength for us and our work. Through our trials, we've become better versions of ourselves, forged in the refining fires of the Crucible.

You might also be wondering about our logo. In other words, our Maker's Mark. It doesn't look anything like a crucible or a ruby, does it? Even the color isn't like ruby.

That's because it's symbolic of our purpose. It resembles a mask, helmet, or perhaps even a shield. Our weapons are not meant for violence, but to defend our customers.

Myths

We've mentioned the Chronicles a few times above. I'm sure you're curious about them. We said it's eight parts. Here's a short summary of the first part.

The Chronicles begin with the Chronicle of the Wanderer, a story following the girl destined to battle with the Devourer.

Adira Morgan, an orphan cared for by her grandmother, discovers that her parents are, in fact, alive. Her grandfather left her an old amulet whose pieces are missing. The amulet leads her to ancient ruins unmarked on any maps, a stone arch gathering dust.

Upon entering the chamber, the amulet reacts to the arch. It ignites a rift to another world of magic and eldritch horrors. Stumbling into an old war, Adira must navigate the unfamiliar world of Laesoterra.

Between learning the magics of Laesoterra, fighting for her life, and discovering hidden plots, Adira has a lot on her plate. She's joined by Quinn Hart, a disgraced dark magic sorcerer, and Emlyn, a cursed eldritch fighting for equality between the denizens of Laesoterra and the Eldritch.

Metal

While writing was our original purpose, metalwork is our passion. I'm sure you're tired of reading by now, so let's keep each idea to a paragraph. In short, we make armor, blades, ornaments, and custom orders. You'll find each of these underneath our Products page. Give it a look if you're interested.

Armor is by far the most complex kind of project we take on. Depending on the type, armor can take anywhere from a week to a year to finish. With our designs, we guarantee a perfect fit. We'll even provide instructions on how to put it on or take it off.

Weaponry is our specialty. Whether you're looking for a pre-made design, or trying out the RAM, plenty of items stand at the ready. Made to fit your hands, our weapons will be comfortable to hold and strong enough to defend you and your loved ones.

Armor and Weaponry doesn't suit everyone. Good news! We do ornamental work too. From wall hangers to stairway railings, we make pretty much anything you can imagine. Want to learn how to make your own? We teach a class on making S hooks, a simple project for any beginner.

Still can't find what you're looking for? Send in a custom order with your design and measurements, and we'll make it! Of course due to copyright laws, we can't make just anything. But that doesn't mean we can't make something inspired from it. Your input is of utmost importance to us!
