Basic courses

Among the basic courses are three classes, each to make a specific item. First, the S hook. Then some forging tongs. Finally, your very own hammer.

The S hook is one of the easiest projects for beginners. It's quite literally as it says: A hook in the shape of an S. Forging one of these teaches you the basic principles of heating and bending steel.

Once you've made your own S hook, check out the Tongs class, where we teach you to build your own pair of forging tongs. Without them! This will teach you basic joint construction, as well as how to use the grinders.

You've nearly mastered the basics. It's time to make your very own hammer. Here, you'll learn to put holes in things! No, really, you will. Not only will you learn how to use a hole punch, but you'll learn basic handle construction.

Advanced courses

For the practiced smiths looking to learn a bit more, we have several courses. Just mastered the basics? Try out the first advanced course, the Knife.

Our knife making course will teach you to forge, shape, and harden your very own knife. As an optional benefit, you can paint it, too!
